dino beganovic - okayyy soooo. this and paul's will go kinda in the same direction… like i was not surprised to see him act not like super happily lol. i understand! when around fans or just people he doesn't know too well, he was not very excited. but when he was talking to jamie (ollie's... idk what he is? manager ish?), he was that cute happy self he can be! but most of the time, it was the dino we get to see in most prema videos from this year (like the "how well do you know your teammates" one) where he's just…. idk :/ dont blame him tho, im sure he's a great guy once you get to know him!!

gabriele mini - honestly i feel like i barely saw him, except when he and his gf were leaving 😭 welp. but he seemed happy to carry around his trophy!!

arvid lindblad - saw him already on thursday and was shocked both because i couldn't believe my eyes (it's him!! he actually exists!!!!!) and bcs he was much shorter than i had anticipated 😭 sorry arvid

sami meguetounif - i didn't see him around a lot but i saw him on the friday helping his team pack up the tent (carrying big things and such), while all other drivers seemed to not really care (from what i could see)(not just trident, but all teams). respect !!!!!!

sebastian montoya - saw him around a lot talking to all kinds of drivers, seems very social butterfly-y :) he seemed very happy after the feature, and he seemed to definitely bring up pepe's mood too because they were talking and joking around for a long time 🥺 his sister (paulina) is also even more gorgeous irl omfg i didn't even think that would be possible…. like we always talk about how amazing she looks in pics but she was so so gorgeous irl (sadly didn't get to see her interact with nikita but 💔 i'll live ig)

luke browning - saw him tons and !! why is he so handsome ?!?!?!! genuinely fell in love all over again. what even. like i keep constantly thinking back to the eye contact we shared and im just. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 seemed sweet with fans too, not super energetic but agreed to pics and such. wish i had shown him my browning bracelet or asked him to sign my sm shirt but i was too shy 💔

christian mansell - saw him get really happy when fans recognized and talked to him, i wanted to show him my mewsell bracelet but didn't have the courage 💔 but sweet and happy as usual!! no surprises there

enzo fittipaldi - he had the cutest interaction ever with his gf, i nearly melted at the sight of them 🥺 and big bro was there supporting him all weekend too which was cute lol

paul aron - the driver i think most ppl are gonna read and ignore all other drivers lol. i only saw him on the friday and… well….. i wasnt surprised because i had not expected him to be the most open and excited etc. 🤷‍♀️ like he did agree to take pics and such! he put on a little smile for the fans! but there was nothing extra, which i understand. i think we all know the kind of expression he puts on and how "neutral" he looks at most times? like, when he's not around a close friend etc then he seems a little cold. to me, i feel like it just makes his smiles much more valuable in some way!! he wasnt very smiley even with karl or ralf, ig maybe he was focused on qualifying, but he didnt give anything extra and i dont blame him for that. still owns my heart !!!! <33 and i think that the difference from dino is that he seemed more focused and more ig neutral than cold like dino. paul didnt seem neither happy nor mad etc, just blank. 😌 (but god did he look SO GOOD, his hair was so light and my heart wanted to jump out of my chest istg. he looked so so good that i was too shy to even look too much at him 😭)

ok so starting with common knowledge i think everyone knows that Hinata is the protagonist followed with Kageyama being the deuteragonist, they get the most screen time together and are pretty much paired MOST of the series, we get a lot of content with them together while also getting content of them on their own, they're known as the "freak duo," the "greatest teammates" and like 100 other names they've been called I've seen a lot of people intemperate their relationship wrong, I've seen a few say Kageyama was downright "abusive" to Hinata which I think is a little farfetched, but to each their own! They genuinely do care for each other and it shows, even at the end of the manga you can tell how far their relationship has come, even if they consider themselves rivals, they are without a doubt still friends Now a lot of people have said "well they're not gay they're just friends", while this is true, it has been referenced/implied officially in many places, including manga panels and english dubs, so while it isn't canon there is a few cute things about it which we know are official which is why I'm sharing this, I myself know it isn't canon, plus I didn't really make this to prove anything it was kinda for fun sorry if that made little to no sense but I'll start getting into more interesting stuff 1. at the tip of the iceberg we have the fact they're in so much official art together

one night when you did a surprise stream since a new game you’ve been excited to play came out suddenly so you just decided to play it.

atsumu arrived at home and immediately went to your game room knowing that you would be there. but what he didn’t know was you were actually streaming tonight.

“good morning,” you greeted all of them and bowed, “i’m l/n y/n, the journalist who’ll interview you today,” you looked at all of them with a poker face. saying that sakusa was surprised would be an understatement; he was in shock, his brain forgot how to function correctly. you followed the others who took you to the room where all the staff would chill, offering you coffee, tea and snacks

sakusa couldn’t keep his eyes off you, seeing you after all these years was like a wave of fresh air; he was relieved to see you successful and blooming, what a beautiful sight he thought when he saw you laughing with his teammates as he got in the room. but at the same time his heart ached him as he remembred what made you two go separate ways and the guilt he tried to hide deep inside him all those years started creeping up again in his chest

“c’mon, it’s just an interview,” he sighed before sitting on a chair behind his team

the interview started and it was going fine, sakusa’s teammates were cool and you had a lot of fun interviewing them. you liked their chaotic energy and it happened for you to match it, they immediately liked you

“y/n-chan,” started atsumu getting close to you, ”would you like to go out with me tonight, we could have dinner together or just grab a drink-”

“atsumu please stop,” you tried to stop him from getting on the table to ask everyone if they liked jazz, “i won’t unless you tell me ya like jazz, honey,” he wiggled his eyebrows as you couldn’t help yourself from laughing, “i do like jazz now sit down,” you finally said

sakusa kept thinking if he should talk to you or not in the mean time, he couldn’t help but to create two imaginary cases in his mind one for that says ‘yes’ and the other one ‘no’, he finally came back to earth when you sat back down after stopping tsumu from performing a jazz song

“but y/n i swear it’s a good jazz song, it is called... Jailhouse Rock by Elvis Presley,” he grins proud of himself, you stare at him trying to hold your laughter and when you were going to anwser you heared sakusa do it first, “no miya, and make the owl and the tangerine stop crying,” atsumu salutes him and goes to talk to the crying duo

“long time no see, l/n,” he finally says making your heart miss a beat

“never thought i’d see you again sakusa,” you answer, finally looking at him

“glad to see you’re doing well,” he adds. “even tho i wish we’d be on good terms,” you sigh turning your head. “gotta admit i am the one to blame,”

a/n: i decided to write these as headcannons, hope you enjoyed!!! gonna be adding some new prompts to my list, so i’ll update you all when that comes out, defiantly will be soon

Akaashi Keiji

Akaashi isn’t the type of person who’s going to go and show off his feelings. He’s actually pretty difficult to read. However, deeming that he does not get jealous when seeing you with another man, changed that one time he saw you being hit on during one of his volleyball games

Akaashi couldn’t think, causing him to mess up a couple of times, but however, his teammates were there to cover for him. He kept a close eye on you up in the stands, silently telling you to get the fuck away from that man

At second half, he ran up to the stands, wanting to see you, wanting to show that man that you belonged to him, wanting to tell you to move away from him, go to a classroom even if you had to miss the game. Akaashi just wanted you to feel safe

“What are you doing?” the man asked when he saw Akaashi grab onto your hand, “What do you think you’re doing?” Akaashi asked as he saw the man grab hold onto yours, instantly yelling out, “Don’t you dare touch her,” Luckily, Yukie walked up to the stands just in time, telling Akaashi to go back down to the court while she sat in the stands with Y/n

Akaashi was just stressed. He just wanted the game to be over so he could pull you into his arms, pressing kisses onto your skin, making you forget about that man. After all, you were his girl

Kuroo Tetsurō

Kuroo would be jealous straight up. He would be jealous just seeing you with another boy, even if they’re your cousin or guy friend. His friends know to keep away from you, especially since you belong to their captain

On a practice match with some of the neighbouring schools, he encounterd Nohebi, knowing his rival, Daishō was going to be there. Kuroo tried to keep his cool, until he saw you standing innocently there, Daishō pinning you into the wall

Kuroo dropped the volleyball, storming over to where Daishō was towering over you, instantly yelling out “Don’t you dare touch her,” when he saw his hand start to move. Daishō was confused.

“She’s my girlfriend, you can’t touch what fucking belongs to me,” Kuroo yelled. “She’s not an object, and besides, it’s not like I was going to hurt her.” Kuroo pushed Daishō away, grabbing you and bringing you into his arms, “Just fuck off.”

For the rest of the day, Kuroo kept his eye on you, as well as Daishō from time to time. He didn’t like the thought of him anywhere near you, so he would do anything he could to make sure it never happened again

Bokuto Kōtarō

Bokuto is someone who I can see being loud from the very second he notices that his s/o is getting hit on. He would be quiet at first, simply walking up to the man, “HEY HEY HEY, mind leaving my Y/n alone?” he doesn’t want to start a fight, but he will if he needs to

Have you seen Bokuto’s muscles? Now imagine this guy that’s grabbing onto you as a normal height boy, who doesn’t have as much muscles as Bokuto, who do you think will come out superior

“Don’t you dare touch her,” Bokuto would say, in a more serious and harsher tone than the one he usually uses. He’s in ‘serious mode’ now, wanting to do as much as he can to protect you. He’s not as controlling as some may be, but he wants people to know that you belong to him

If he has to, I can see him lowkey calling Akaashi and some of his other teammates to help defend you. You are family too. Maybe even Kuroo and Kenma if the situation got worse. He’d ask either Yukie or Kaori to watch after you if he was in the middle of a game

After the incident, Bokuto would shower you with love and affection, telling you how much you mean to him, how much he loves you and how he would never want you to leave him for someone else

Hinata Shōyō

Hinata would be straight up confused. If he hears someone call you pretty, he would just straight up agree with them, saying about how pretty you are, not realising the fact that this other person was trying to hit on you

Hinata is a baby, he would be confused on what he should do. He doesn’t know. Upon knowing of this, he’d either try and get Kageyama or Tanaka to help back him up as he’s just straight up confused. Though, he likes to be the only one who’s able to touch you, getting a little angry when he sees someone else with you

You were at one of his games when he was in his second year, watching him from the crowd. He ended up missing one of his shots as he was so focused on you and the man who had his phone out, asking you if he could get your number. He’s dealt with people trying to hit on Kiyoko before, but you’re his girlfriend, it’s a different situation.

“Don’t you dare touch her,” he’d yell as he ran over with Kageyama and Tanaka following behind as support. They’re just there in case Hinata fucks up and doesn’t know what to do. In the end, Hinata gets you away from the man

When you two are alone, Hinata showers you with cuddles, telling you how much he loves you, even asking if you would ever leave him for someone else, someone like the man in the stands, where you have to constantly reassure him that you wont

Lev Haiba 

Like Bokuto, I can see Lev as being someone who would simply warn the guy that you’re taken, trying to keep it nice and simple before he ends up going off. I can see him storing up some anger in there. There’s always a side of someone we don’t know

You were at one of his modelling shoots, sitting around waiting for your boyfriend to be finished when another guy walked up to you, asking if you were also a model, which you simply declined saying you were here for your boyfriend

However, Lev noticed and still wasn’t happy. He was like, “that’s my girl >:(” so he went over and approached him, simply asking him to leave his girlfriend alone

Lev was called back to the set once more, leaving you alone with the guy. This time, the guy started hitting on you, that’s when Lev started to get annoyed. He made it aware that he was your boyfriend, so why wouldn’t he leave you alone?

Lev made his way back to the guy, simply stating, “Don’t you dare touch her,” as he saw the guy reach his hand out, signalling like he was trying to pull you off with him somewhere

Tsukishima Kei

Tsukishima would lowkey bully the guy or say something really salty. That’s just the type of guy he is. Sometimes, he may seem like he doesn’t really care about you or the relationship, but deep down he really does love you and hates to see someone else trying to hit on you

It all started in his third year, when the both of you had confirmed your relationship to the rest of his teammates, making it known that you were taken by him. That was just the first step, letting the rest of his teammates know that you belonged to him. However, it wouldn’t have worked with everyone else

You are his number one supporter. At the end of one of his volleyball matches, he saw you in the stands, a guy standing next to you, talking with you. He wanted to inspect the situation, wanting to know if the guy was just a friend or a stranger

He has like this gift with animals, every animal he comes across likes him.

Like one time you guys saw a crow sitting in the backyard everyday.

That crow was known to peck and terrorize older people.

Kindaichi went in the backyard and you had no time to warn him about the crow-

Somehow the crow liked him as well and now it stays in your backyard 24/7 and gets lunch at a fixed time or gets mad.

Also whenever you go out in the backyard, the crow likes to caw at you and sit on your head.

Bonus point: I think we all know this but Kindaichi’s very down to earth and humble and I think that's mainly because of his family atmosphere and all the people he's been around.

When his mom first heard when he got a s/o she was worried because she was worried that you would be a bad influence on him but when she met you, she was relieved cause she saw that you cared for him a lot and weren't really a bad person.

While I’m certainly nowhere near ready for the story of the Mighty Nein to come to an end, I am also a D&D nerd and there’s a new sourcebook coming out soon with a bunch of new subclasses in it. By the time Campaign 3 of Critical Role gets underway, that book will be published, leaving a wealth of new options for the cast members to choose from, so why not entertain myself by making barely justified predictions of what the cast is most likely to pick for their next characters! (Disclaimer: Some of the new subclasses have been confirmed and some haven’t, so for a few of these picks I’m just going off of what I think is going to be in the book).

Travis

Cleric (Tempest Domain): Travis has been playing lowkey EMT since campaign one, and Laura’s already confirmed that Travis almost went cleric for campaign two. Between Grog with his barb-boosted movement speed to get around the battlefield so he could shove healing potions into his squishier teammates, and Fjord multiclassing into paladin and lovingly tapping his friends with single hit points to get them back up, it would be delightful to see him fully jump in and embrace the classical healer role. Of course, this is Travis, so I don’t see him picking a cleric domain that doesn’t allow for at least some whoop-ass, and Tempest Domain brings plenty of it. You get proficiency with all armor and weapons, Divine Strike at level 8 for boosted melee damage, you can use a reaction to inflict lightning or thunder damage against any enemy within melee range that’s hit you. And if you climb up high enough in levels, you gain a flying speed equal to your walking one whenever you’re outdoors. Pretty nifty, and makes for a fitting subclass for a guy that’s voiced Thor on multiple occasions.

Blood Hunter (Order of the Lycan): I mean, come on. The only reason it isn’t number one is that it was already widely assumed this would be Travis’s pick for campaign two, and I wouldn’t put it past him to surprise us again. But still, we saw him get a taste in Liam’s one shot and he was clearly having the time of his life. Besides, we lost Molly far too early to really see the blood hunter’s potential come to life; it would be damn cool to see someone else take a crack at it, and Travis is enough of a D&D gambler to not shy away from the class’s riskier features.

Artificer (Armorer): Speaking of Marvel connections, if Travis doesn’t lean toward fantasy Thor, then fantasy Iron Man might catch his attention instead. Artificer is an official class now, and since it’ll be reprinted in TCoE by the time campaign 3 gets underway, it’ll be a lot more visible as an option. The Armorer sits in almost a perfect middle ground of what Travis has done before: tanky and a frontliner, but also still has spells and tricks to help the party. Plus, you get a badass suit of power armor out of it. What’s not to like?

Marisha

Bard (College of Creation): After Hazel Copperpot, we all saw the pure magic that was Marisha Ray playing a bard. I know she implied that Hazel was supposed to be her campaign two backup character, but I hope this doesn’t discourage her from making another one. There are quite a few bard subclasses, a number of which I could see her being drawn to (Lore, Glamour, maybe even Swords), but I really vibe with the idea of Creation. I can’t exactly say why; maybe the idea of the ‘dancing object’ feature in Marisha’s hands is very funny to me (remember Keyleth’s adorable “Be Our Guest” moment? That, but this time it’s a walking wardrobe beating the shit out of the enemy).

Paladin (Oath of Vengeance/Conquest): As of yet, no one on Critical Role has ever played a paladin from the start, only multiclassed later down the line. I think this would be a cool departure for Marisha. Both campaigns she’s played characters that were either suspicious or at least indifferent to faith and the gods. Paladins are typically associated with deities, but they’re not tied quite so closely to them as clerics are. It would be fascinating to see what she did with it. As for the subclass, I just think Marisha’s earned her turn on the Goth Character Carousel, and while I know Conquest paladin is very unlikely given its moral grayness by default which might cause undue conflict and that Vengeance is a much more likely and acceptable pick, I just think it would be a sexy character choice. 

Wizard (Bladesinger/Graviturgist): This is a much more pie-in-the-sky, wishful thinking pick on my end, but not impossible imo. Marisha has experience with heavy spellcasting already, so she probably wouldn’t shy away from a wizard, but like Travis I suspect she likes a bit of oomph to her characters, and probably wouldn’t play as support heavy as Caleb does. To that end, Bladesingers get a bit more survivability and some modicum of physical prowess alongside their spells, while Graviturgists are definitely on the more aggressive side of the spectrum for wizard subclasses, with unique dunamancy spells to boot. I’m not sure how restrictive Matt would be about Xhorhassian characters in the next campaign if it takes place on another continent, but hey, you never know. Plus, she picked one of Matt’s homebrew subclasses for the current campaign; it would be cute if it happened again.

Liam

Druid (Circle of the Shepherd): At some point before Critical Role comes to end (hopefully far in the future), I know Liam’s gonna play a druid, I can feel it in my bones. He's too big of a Kiki fan not to. However, while Circle of the Moon might feel obvious given the potential for homage and how much he likes turning into animals, I feel like he might regard it as getting too close to old territory (also, I don’t know if Circle of the Moon is like an exclusive thing to the Ashari tribes, and if it is that would be rather restrictive for building a backstory). If that’s the case, Circle of the Shepherd feels like the next best bet. It has some great support options via the totems you can put down, and rather than becoming badass animals, you instead just get really good at summoning a fuck ton of them. It’s like Frumpkin, but ten of him. And they’re bears. (Honorable mention: If Circle of the Moon would feel like treading old territory then I’m certain Circle of Wildfire would too, but I’d bet my dice collection it would at least be tempting). 

Cleric (Unity Domain): Listen. The pure sap potential that would be at Mr. O’Brien’s fingertips with this subclass is incredible. The domain all about strengthening and protecting the bonds between friends and loved ones?? The domain with the Channel Divinity that can spread damage taken by one creature across the party however the cleric chooses to distribute it to lessen the blow to the individual??? The domain that used to be called the Love Domain???? I’m practically gagging on the soft moments and unspoken devotion conveyed through spellcasting already.

Fighter (Rune Knight/Psi Knight): Liam has yet to play a tank in a long-term campaign, and while I’m more enamored with the potential of the above classes, it would be novel to see him play a character with an actually respectable amount of hit points. However, I feel like if he was gonna commit to a straight frontliner, he’d probably want something a little more unique than a Champion or Battle Master (especially since he’s played those already for one-shots). Rune Knight has some fun options and built-in flavor, and with Psi Knight you can basically be a Jedi. Not bad options at all if you ask me.

Taliesin

Warlock (Fiend): Yeah, it might be expected, or Percy might have been too close to warlock anyway to feel like there’s new ground to cover, but hear me out. Both Percy (who, let’s face it, was a warlock multiclass in all but the actual mechanics) and Fjord were the classic reluctants. They got in over their heads without really knowing what was going on, and once they did they wanted out, cutting ties with their patrons and getting clear with only the scars remaining. I want to see Taliesin commit to a warlock in a way I imagine only he could manage to pull off. How fun would that balancing act be, to have a character that has no intentions of breaking their pact, who’s here for the powers, and is willing to work that delicate balancing act between keeping what he’s got and not letting his contract holder get the better of him? Give it to meeeeee.

Sorcerer (Psionic Soul): Psionic Soul has a bit of that eldritch flavor that vibes with Taliesin so much, with the added interest of introducing a brand new feature to 5E, the Psi Die (with this subclass, using them can do things like letting a sorcerer learn a spell they don’t already know for a few hours, allow you to cast spells without needing verbal, somatic, or material components, and can give you telepathy). Taking both Percy and Molly into account, it seems Tal likes to lean into those unique additional mechanics, and while Psi Die aren’t as risk-heavy as Gunslinger or Bloodhunter, they do add a layer of variability and unpredictability that seems to match his style.

Rogue (Swashbuckler): We only got a little bit of time with Molly, and so missed out on the opportunity to see Tal play a more cavalier character this time around. If he feels like leaning away from spells next time and back toward martial, I think a high-charisma, high-swinging swashbuckler from Tal would be a delight to watch.

Laura

Barbarian (Path of the Ancestral Guardian): Laura deserves to hit things, okay? Yes, spellcasting is great and comes in clutch frequently and Jester’s amazing, but you can tell Laura misses doing fat stacks of damage to the enemy in a single round. I personally think it would be amazing to watch her just cut loose and go full rage machine. As for the subclass, I’m not glued to the idea, but Ancestral Guardians are pretty kickass, have decent support capabilities for a barb without detracting from their DPS at all, and it doesn’t tread on any previous characters’ toes or their aesthetics.

Rogue (Scout/Soulknife): Laura deserves to play her favorite class at last, okay? She’s been class poached two campaigns in a row, and though that resulted in both Vex and Jester and I wouldn’t trade them for the world, Laura has earned first pick. Seeing as she already dipped into Assassin as Vex and Sam took Arcane Trickster, I could see Scout being a viable subclass choice. It’s in the classic sneaky vein, relatively simple in concept, but comes with features that grant easy-to-understand benefits that you can never turn your nose up at (boosts to movement, advantage on initiative, giving advantage against a target to everyone else in the party, etc.). If she’s looking for something a bit flashier, Soulknife has the benefit of retroactively dunking on Vax by taking the basic knife-rogue and making it better, with psionic knives that you can manifest with a thought, that can teleport you around Whisper style, and cranking up that stealth to ridiculous levels by just being able to turn invisible for ten minutes, no concentration or spell needed. The psionic die mechanics are a little funky of course, but I don’t imagine it’s any trickier than learning to manage all those cleric spells.

Monk (Way of the Open Hand): Between Beau just being super cool and her brief stint as Farriwen Breeze, monk wouldn’t be a surprising pick from Laura. An Open Hand monk might be the definitive version everyone knows, but you can’t deny it’s a solid subclass, and between previous overlap and the concepts of the other subclasses just not seeming to fit, I could see the classic being what she went with. But hey, it’s Laura Bailey. She could surprise us with Way of the Drunken Master or something.

Sam

Ranger (Monster Slayer): Let’s be real, I don’t think this would be his actual first pick for a Campaign 3 character, but the amount of shit-stirring he could achieve by making a character with the aim of pissing off Laura Bailey specifically would be hilarious (and since Matt isn’t completely opposed to UA and acknowledges that PHB ranger has a lot of issues, I wouldn’t be surprised if they went Revised Ranger this time).

Warlock (Genie): Actual first pick here, Pact of the Genie Warlock is confirmed by now, and the potential of a warlock in the hands of Sam Riegel is pretty vast (for some reason I’m imagining he would go the ‘spoiled sugar baby’ route). The subclass doesn’t matter as much, but the Genie one is nice in that, depending on the type of genie patron you pick, you can get a wide variety of extra spells, you get a container like a classic lamp or lantern that you can bamf into for short rests, and you get a limited Wish ability for your capstone, all features I feel like would especially appeal to Sam.

Barbarian (Path of the Wild Soul): I want to see Sam play a fairy barbarian. ‘Nough said.

Ashley

Fighter (Eldritch/Echo Knight): Ashley really seems to vibe with the crushing power of martial classes (she does love her brutal kill descriptions), so I could see her sticking with it rather than going back to full caster. However, I do see her picking one of the magical subclasses for some variety after Yasha. Eldritch Knight is a classic and reasonably easy to manage, but tbh I’d LOVE for it to be Echo Knight. And think, if my wishful thinking came true, with Ashley picking an Echo Knight and Marisha playing a Graviturgist wizard, they could link up their backstories and be a traveling Kryn battle duo that left their homeland behind to explore the world!

Sorcerer (Draconic): If she does want to go back to full-time casting, Sorcerer doesn’t require near as much bookkeeping as a cleric, druid, or wizard while still having decent variety, and the Draconic subclass is a bit beefier than the other subclasses. Also, it would be the third campaign in a row where Ashley Johnson’s character eventually got wings, soooo...

And tbh I have no idea what a third pick might be for Ashley, so I’m just gonna throw a dart or two at the board and say either College of Whispers Bard or Way of Mercy Monk *Shrug* We can only wait and see!

what would’ve happened if oikawa torū went to shiratorizawa

yeahh,,, the title already says what this headcanon is about :))

sorry for the late update, but my personal life is kinda shitty now and i just couldn’t get things done

So,,, i only watched the anime and i have no idea when the whole shit between Oikawa and Ushijima started, but I think it was in Middle School and got only worse when they went to High School

But since Oikawa joined Aoba Seijoh it makes no freaking sense when he suddenly goes to Shiratorizawa

So, I think that Oikawa always admired Ushijima and lowkey wants to set for him one day (even when he denies this)

Despite being obvious to many things, Ushijima is smart when it’s related to Volleyball (idk if this is true,,, just lemme be) 

In the future he’s known as the ‘left-handed cannon’ (or so I think) and many think he’s a brute who just smashes the ball

But he’s not. He wants to make his father proud and his father wouldn’t be proud of a dumb son who just smashes mindlessly some balls

Since he’s young, he reads anything related to Volleyball. Analyses, strategies, the best teams, anything. 

Ushijima has always been a silent boy, he lets his actions speak. This gives him the opportunity to observe people around him

Because of this, he’s able to spot talent and good players in the mass of still young children 

So he notices Oikawa and Iwaizumi. The two have known each other since childhood, they have a trust in each other not many have and especially,,, Iwazumi keeps Oikawa in check. Without Iwaizumi, Oikawa would be a beast and destroy everyone in his way, despite his cheery face

When Ushijima applies to Shiratorizawa he states that he will only play for them if they get Oikawa and Iwaizumi too 

Coach Washijō is first rather pissed at this cheeky little brat called Ushijima Wakatoshi, but then goes to a match to see these two 

He immediately notices that Oikawa is the best setter in the whole prefecture, since he knows exactly how to use all his teammates with their best. And his ace, Iwaizumi helps him with it

The coach talks to both of them and at first Oikawa is irritated, especially when he sees Ushijima with the coach 

(The two already have a rivalry, so naturally Oikawa is pissed) 

When then Ushijima tells him to come to Shiratorizawa, because he will lose with another team, Oikawa fucking wants to punch this little asshole

But then he stops for a second and takes a second look

Ushijima never meant to offend him, he just stated the obvious since he doesn’t know differently. Oikawa knows bluntness, hell, Iwaizumi is bluntness in person, but Ushijima takes it to another level

“You really don’t know how to talk with people, do you Ushiwaka?” And Ushijima blinks and answers calmly, but also confused: “But we are talking?” 

And Oikawa understands. Ushijima never wanted to offend him, to hurt him, he just told him what would the best way for him since he knows that Oikawa is a very good volleyball player and setter. 

“Are you brats finally finished? Ushijima won’t play for Shiratorizawa if you two don’t come and I won’t let other schools take such good players from me.”

(Iwaizumi is also slightly confused, why he’s invited too, but then the Coach snarks at him. “Why wouldn’t I invite you too? You keep Shiratorizawa’s setter in check. Furthermore, do you know how good two players are, especially a setter and an ace, who know each other for years?”)

After this day, Ushijima is somewhat friends with Oikawa and Iwaizumi. Ushijima is maybe socially awkward, but the three never really have any drama, maybe some misunderstandings, but with the time, the three get to know each other better

Listen,,, we all know Tendou is Ushijima’s best friend,,, but now Ushijima is friend with Oikawa,,, Tendou and Oikawa,,, the chaos,,, the pain they cause their own teammates and their so called ‘enemies’ 

(Tendou totally teaches Oikawa to look/smile like he’s crazy, just to scare some setters or other teams)

Their fellow first years don’t really know of whom they should be terrified. Oikawa, that scarry cheery setter, his best friend Iwaizumi, who has clearly some aggression problems, Tendou, uhm- that crazy middle blocker or freaking Ushijima, who’s just tall, but so silent and looks so freaking powerful. 

Since Oikawa is the better setter then Semi, Semi focuses on his pinch serves, but the two often train together as setters

Ushijima becomes of course the ace of the team, but Iwaizumi becomes a starter too. Since the two also train together, Iwaizumi becomes a even better spiker

All in one, the four are terrifying group and take Shiratorizawa further than anyone before

After their first nationals, Shiratorizawa ranks 4th, after loosing against Inarizaki 

Shiratorizawa trains harder than before, Oikawa becomes obsessed with winning the nationals and takes his obsesssion to a new level. (Iwaizumi totally screams/beats some sense into him) 

Anywhore,,, the team wants to win and they walz every team to the ground and somehow manage to win the Spring Nationals 

But they still aren’t satisfied, since it was a hard win and they almost lost to Itachiyama

Call them petty and proud (cause that’s what they are) but they want to be the real winners. Everybody knows of Itachiyama or Inarizaki, but not everybody knows about Shiratirizawa, even when they are a proud powerhouse and ranked rather high the previous years. They want to win the nationals and show everybody that they are the best 

After the nationals, Ushijima and Oikawa are invited to the All Japan Camp (or whatever it’s called) while Tendou and Iwaizumi go to the Youth Camp (totally to go spying :))

Since Shiratorizawa won the nationals, everybody knows now of the brilliant setter, who seems to be either a freaking genius or a monster, since he fits in every team, no matter what and can take out 100% and better out of them. And the left handed ace, who breaks through (almost) every wall 

Ushijima and Oikawa are a terrifying force on the court and the U-19 coaches want the on the team. They are almost insulted when both say no, but understand that they want to wait for a year

“We are still first years, we only played a year together. I am honored, really and I am sure Oikawa is too, but Shiratorizawa needs to win the nationals again. Please ask us again in a year.”

(The coaches are still a little bit mad, but then Oikawa comes with an absolute mad man plan.)

“But if we could train with the team, starting this year, then I’m sure Japan would be even more fearsome in the internationals and actually win them.”

“Oikawa, you should spend less time with Tendou, you start acting like him.” “What’s wrong with that?!” “You are scaring the coaches.”

When Oikawa and Ushijima tell their Coach about it, he screams at them for a full hour and let’s them run to their next practice match, ‘for being cheeky little asshole brats, with no respect’

Tendou is so proud of Oikawa, while Iwaizumi just wants to bang his head against the wall (he will never leave Oikawa alone with anyone, never again)

Anyway,,, some timeskip ‘cause I’m impatient

Shiratorizawa wins the nationals again and this time,,, more clear and without 5 sets, but four

Many of Shiratorizawa are ranked in the national volleyball list. Ushijima as number one ace, Iwaizumi number 5 (after Ushijima needed to sit out for a game, cause he hurt himself and Iwaizumi played in his position) Oikawa is setter number one, Shirabu is setter number 6 (uhm- well Shiratorizawa doesn’t like to talk about it, but Oikawa started a,,, uhm- fight with Asumu Miya, bitching about who would be the better setter and the coach took him out for some sets) Tendou is middle blocker number one and proudly carries the name ‘guess monster’

So, naturally, everybody expected them to win the Spring Nationals (which they did, but yeah) 

Anywhore,,,, Ushijima and Oikawa had some trainings with the U-19 team, but ‘really’ started in their second year. Since they still/need to train with their team, their timetable is packed 

Japan maybe doesn’t win in the internationals but they rank high, 5th place which is better than the last years (i have no idea about this,, but yeahh-)

Let me set one thing clear,,, Oikawa still has fangirls. But they are from Shiratorizawa,,, and after he won the nationals, he seems to have a freaking army of these girls. And when he and Ushijima rank high in the internationals,,, well- his fans were very enthusiastic

Listen. Shiratirozawa has clearly more class than Aoba Johsei,,, fight me but it’s true (they are a freaking private school) so his fans,,, are less crazy about him, but also support his team. Which means that every member of the Shiratorizawa Volleyball team has some fangirls. And after winning the nationals their fanbase only grows

Anywhore,,, they win both nationals (they have to play against Inarizaki both times and both times Inarizaki wins two sets) (annoying brat twins, Oikawa would say) so everybody knows that winning the nationals gets more difficult

In their third year, Iwaizumi takes Goshiki under his wing (Ushijima helps too), while Oikawa and Semi train more with Shirabu. Since they go after a year, Shiratorizawa still needs a master setter and a perfect ace

The Coach doesn’t like to admit it, but his method to make just one player perfect and the axle of the team, is not perfect. There is a reason why Oikawa is the captain and Ushijima the vice-captain of the team. Shiratorizawa still can be an intense force in this way

Now

Karasuno doesn’t play against Aoba Johsei in their first selection of the nationals, they play against Shiratorizawa and still loose

But

They can take one set, but then Oikawa went full beast modus since he really doesn’t want Kageyama to win. After all, there is a reason why he plays for Japan, together with Ushijima

After the game, Ushijima asks Kageyama, why he didn’t come to Shiratorizawa, since his talent is wasted with Karasuno, especially when he has been taught by Oikawa. Kageyama admits that he wanted to go to Shiratorizawa, but he failed the exams. Ushijima blinks and says: “You should’ve studied harder. Shiratorizawa is an elite school, they expect good grades. But... you will take Karasuno far, especially with your number ten. You control him good, especially since he’s practically a waste on the court.”

Karasuno was offended as hell, especially Hinata, until Iwaizumi sighs and apologizes. 

“Ushijima isn’t good with words, what he means... number ten. Work on your technique. If you train good and hard, you and Kageyama will be an incredible force on the court. But don’t get to high hopes. As long Shittykawa and Ushijima are part of the team, nobody else, than Shiratorizawa, will go to the nationals. He’s fucking obsessed with it... but he also has to show a good performance, both of them, since they are in the U-19 Japan team.”

(So,, maybe Karasuno manages to make it into the nationals in the third year :), but that doesn’t matter anymoreee) 

Anywhore,,, they still manage to win both nationals (of course) but not without some drama. Oikawa picks a fight with the Miya twins, but behind their back, he bullies their way into the U-19 team (after the first nationals) Nobody knows about it, until they get an invite for the team. 

Listen. At first, Osamu wanted to stop with volleyball after High School, but then he and his brother get invited to the U-19 team and he,,, suddenly gains a new passion for volleyball. Atsumu naturally notices and they both start to train harder. They create new attacks, especially after Oikawa taunts them that some little first years of Karasuno have too some freak quick attack which is similar to their own. (They totally sneak to some games of Karasuno and spy on them) Osamu doesn’t want a little shit of a raven (uhm- Hinata) to be quicker and better than him, especially when this little number ten is a freaking middle blocker. 

So, Osamu takes notes of Date Tech (and other powerhouses with strong blocks) and Atsumu trains with him (all this happens while Oikawa gackles evily) 

U-19 Japan suddenly plays with two setters on the court and with two strong wing spikers. The other countries were slightly surprised, since it’s rather uncommon to play with two setters, especially international

(Some coaches/teams are totally freaked out by the twin freak attack (as everybody calls it) (you know which one? the one Kageyama and Hinata stop) especially since they can pull it from everywhere) 

Also,,, after the Miya twins joined the team, the tension between them and Oikawa suddenly vanished, after he stopped being so creepy with them (they also saw how Ushijima punched Oikawa without looking and said: “Stop being rude. I will tell Iwaizumi.” When Oikawa starts to whine like a freaking child, Ushijima just scolds him like a parent and forbid him to spend more time with Tendou

So,,, the four totally go along and actually bond, after Ushijima forces them to sit down and talks (as his teammates suggsested after someone fought) (Ushijima ust being a freaking bean- I can’t-)

Anyway

They finally win the internationals and many teams want now the four, but also their teams (Shiratorizawa and Inarizaki) but Iwaizumi doesn’t want to go professional, as well Tendou (which many say is a waste of talent, but oh well-) 

In their last nationals, Inarizaki and Shiratorizawa play against each other again and yeahh,,, I’m unsure,,, should Shiratorizawa or Inarizaki win? It’s a close win, that’s for sure,,, but... the twins train together with Ushijima and Oikawa, and they know now how Shiratorizawa plays, the same goes for Shiratorizawa

I know that after the time-skip, Oikawa plays for Argentina, but after my time-skip, Oikawa plays for Japan, together with the twins and Ushijima. I also want them all in the Schweiden Alders,,, just because I can :)

Physical Affection with - Marko Stunt

You see the way that he treats his friends? How affectionate he is with them? Now imagine how he’d treat you if you were dating.

You’re gonna have a bit of a hard time keeping him under control, if we’re being entirely honest

He’s only a year older than Jungle Boy, but he doesn’t care about being cringey in the same way that his teammate does; he’s absolutely in love with you, and damn if the entire world isn’t gonna know

He tries his best to respect your boundaries, though; he might slip up, but he’s gonna try really hard to not make you uncomfortable

There will probably never be a day where he doesn’t hug or kiss you tbh

Holding Hands

I feel like he’s not too big a fan of holding hands, honestly?

Like, he has no problem whatsoever with it, but he’d much rather just hug you or something

He mainly holds your hand during moments where he has to be professional, or in situations where he doesn’t really know anyone around him (and thus, wants to make a good impression)

It’s not uncommon for him to lace his fingers with yours when he’s nervous in these situations, though; you often end up tracing patterns on his palm with your thumb to calm him down

He’ll also grab your hand after he takes hard bumps; he’s a human crash test dummy sometimes, so he knows that you get really worried about him

You’ll lean down to check on him, and he’ll reach for your hand and squeeze it to show you that he’s okay

Overall, this is mostly just a reassurance thing; he would much rather have an arm (or two) around you in any situation

Bonus: He once jokingly bought one of those mittens that you can put two hands into (the ones meant for couples to hold hands when it’s cold). After using it during a winter show in the northern US, though, he’s absolutely come to love using it when it’s cold outside.

Hugging

This is his SHIT, buddy

He’s almost always gonna be hugging you

If you’re in a conversation, he’ll come up behind you and grab your waist, burying his head in your neck or back while he listens to you

He loves throwing an arm over your shoulder when you’re walking next to him, pulling you into his side and kissing your temple (oh, we’ll get there, don’t worry)

He’ll totally ask you to give him piggyback rides around the arena; he gets to spend time with you, and he gets to hold you; what’s not to love?

He clings to you after matches; especially if he got a little beaten up or if he lost, he’ll stand in front of you, letting you rake your fingers across the bare skin of his back as you tell him how well he did

If he wins? He’s gonna jump into your arms (and probably knock you to the floor tbh) because he’s so excited to share his victory with you

He just loves having you in his grasp; the closer you are to him, the more of you that he can hold, the happier he’ll be

Bonus: The Dark Order once tried to interfere in a match between Private Party and Jurassic Express (well, Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy), but they got scared off by you, wielding a kendo stick and chasing them on Marko’s back. Fans made gifs of that shit for months on end, and it ended up as his Twitter profile picture because he loved it so much.

Kissing

THEY’RE SO PLUMP AND SOFT-LOOKING; 10/10 IT WOULD BE LIKE KISSING A DAMN PILLOW OR SOMETHING (sorry, needed to get that one out)

Anyway! He loves temple kisses SO much, and he can’t really explain why if you want the truth

It’s not at all uncommon for him to be so surprised or proud of you (for literally ANYTHING) that he’ll just lean in and press his lips to your forehead

He loves when you pepper his face with kisses

If you initiate a kiss, he’ll just kinda...go still, and he’ll touch wherever your lips touched when you pull away, breaking out in a huge grin

You can just barely kiss his cheek or the tip of his nose and he’s gonna Lose His Shit

When you’re alone, he’ll put his fingers under your chin and tilt your head until he can kiss your lips

He ADORES the feeling of kissing you until he’s almost literally breathless

He loves the feeling of pulling away after a long kiss, his face red and his breath a little heavy as he presses his forehead to yours

I haven’t really brought it up for anyone else, but he also definitely loves making out with you

The heat that settles in the air, the way that you can’t keep your lips off of each other...it’s damn near heaven to him

(lowkey loves it when you bite his bottom lip between kisses, he’ll let out the hottest groans...okay we’re done this is already off the damn rails but we’re about to steer into some possibly very nsfw territory if i don’t STOP)

Bonus: Your first kiss was after some drunk guy tried to heckle you at a show; you were super upset, but he spent well over an hour sitting and comforting you, and you gave him the tiniest (cutest) little kiss after you calmed down and was feeling better

Cuddling

He loves holding you 

His philosophy is that no matter what you’re working on, you can probably do it from on his lap

Working on a report? Well, you can sit together in front of your computer

Speaking of music!! He loves when you lay in his arms while he works on writing new lyrics, or when you hold him from behind while he thinks out new melodies on his guitar

He lets you lay across his legs while he plays, making a point to strum a little softer so he doesn’t disturb you

You once fell asleep on his shoulder, listening to a new melody he was working on, and he nearly had a heart attack from how cute you were

I feel like even if you fall asleep on opposite sides of the bed, you end up curled into each other by morning

He’s the little spoon, don’t @ me on this one

He’s so often the one initiating contact, between you and others that he’s close with, that having someone holding him for once is super meaningful to him in a way that you don’t really understand

He once wrote you a love song for your anniversary; he sent it to you while he was away on a tour and you called him, crying in your car because it was so sweet

He’s your number one hype man; you can call him at any time and he’ll have a speech on hand about awesome you are and how you can do anything in the world

Even if he doesn’t actually know what he’s hyping you up for

He’ll beat the ass of anyone that dares to talk shit about you, no matter how much bigger they are

You’re an unofficial member of Jurassic Express; JB and Luchasaurus see you as part of the family, so you’re also gonna have them ready to haul ass for you at all times

He’s also surprisingly good to talk to; his mental filter can get a little clogged, and he’s suggested fighting your boss on multiple occasions because of it, but he’s such a good listener and you can tell that he really cares about you and what you’re saying

He’s always gonna have your back (metaphorically and literally)...he’s such an affectionate dude, he’ll always care about you and make sure you feel loved in every capacity

He’s a secret romantic underneath all the physical sensations, although those play right into it, and he’s gonna always have his mind on how much he loves you

5: Theatricality

Overall Thoughts: For a really, really long time this was my absolute favourite episode of all time. It’s still high up there, but unlike most people I actually really enjoyed the last two seasons of Glee, so this episode got bumped down a bit. Still, there is very little I don’t like about this episode. It manages to give several characters’ stories while still focusing on the main two stories of the episode. Unlike “Dream On”, I didn’t feel like I was watching a show about Finn, Rachel, Kurt, and Shelby. I felt like I was watching Glee.

What I Like:

Figgins thinking vampires are real and talking about how they need to keep vampirism out of McKinley.

Tina looking interested when Puck says “Catholic school girl”

“Happy meal, no onions. Or a chicken”

Kurt getting so excited over Lady Gaga. Oh, honey <3

“You don’t need an appointment at super-cuts. They love walk-in’s” CLAPBACK OF THE CENTURY LADIES AND GENTLEMEN (this line makes me die of laughter every fucking time like oh my god Karofksy you are so genuinely stupid)

The Lady Gaga outfits!!!! Even Rachel’s original one, which I find hilarious and way more fitting for her personality than the one she gets later

“You look terrible. I look awesome”

“You want to name our daughter Jack Daniels? She’s a girl!” “Okay, fine, Jackie Daniels”

Shelby being honest with Rachel when she realized that she made a mistake by contacting her and that this wasn’t what she really wanted. I appreciate when characters can be honest when they mess up, even if it hurts them and other people.

Rachel being honest as well and admitting that she doesn’t feel that mother-daughter bond she always dreamed of with Shelby. I wish they’d gone a little deeper into this, but I’m still glad they mentioned it at all. Especially when Shelby says that it was when Rachel told her about her dad’s and how they would bring her water when she was sad. Shelby isn’t her mom, and it was silly for both of them to expect that. Rachel doesn’t have a mom – she has two dads. While I’m glad they explored the “where I come from” aspect of this, I’m also glad that they didn’t turn it into “I feel more connected to you because of biology than I do to my fathers who raised me”.

THAT WHOLE SCENE WITH KURT AND FINN AND BURT IN THE BASEMENT. There is so much I love about that scene. I could write an essay on that scene and how important it is. That scene literally defined Glee for me for so long. I’m so glad they did that scene.

Okay, I know it’s an insult and homophobic and gross but when Azimio says “being in football and being in Glee doesn’t make you versatile – it makes you bisexual” I always burst out laughing like oh my god I don’t know why I find that so funny.

Finn standing up for Kurt at the end. I will say though that, while I enjoy this, there are some things that I wish had been included as well, which I’ll talk more about later.

Artie and Mike being lil cuties and actually cheering for the girls and being super encouraging in their performance. Considering Artie was always portrayed as the most misogynistic of the guys, he actually is one of the few that openly and genuinely encourages the girls in their performances every fucking time.

Finn actually getting to react to seeing Puck and Quinn talk about the baby!!!!! That’s always been my biggest pet peeve – Finn literally thought he was going to be a father and that got ripped away from him, and he wasn’t ever shown to be angry about that. It was always just “oh boo-hoo Quinn cheated on me and Puck is my best friend woe is me” when really he should be mourning the loss of a child he thought was his, but then learnt was not. Like… I don’t know. Seeing him awkwardly look away reminds everyone that he genuinely thought that baby was his, and now he can’t go through this with Quinn. He’s obviously upset about it. Even though he’s a dink in this episode I still feel bad for him about this.

Will going to the effort to look into Lady Gaga and actually getting excited about her.

What I Don’t:

I already said this, but Finn is a dink in this episode. He’s getting bullied by Karofksy and Azimio, and instead of calling them out on being homophobic and sexist and engaging in toxic masculinity, he just falls into it. He turns that abuse onto Kurt, who he clearly thinks is the one who deserves the abuse. And like, I don’t get why he’s so freaked out around Kurt. Yeah, it’s obvious that Kurt has a crush on him, but when has he ever tried to make a blatant, obvious move (kiss him, touch him, grab him, etc)? When has he given Finn any reason to be worried about changing around him, or even just sharing a room with him? It’s homophobia and toxic masculinity at it’s finest. Add the whole “I don’t wanna do Gaga cause I’m a Man” bullshit that’s thrown into this episode and it’s just a mess. While I’m happy they had Finn stand up for Kurt at the end and wear the Lady Gaga outfit, it still took him being told by an older, straight man that he was being a piece of shit and homophobic and offensive and gross for him to realize what was happening. Plus, I don’t think they gave Finn enough of a chance to really redeem himself. I mean, come on, it’s really easy to say sorry and put on an outfit; actually changing your attitude is more of an uphill battle. I wish they’d re-visited this more at a later date (though not in the way they did in “Duets” when Kurt brings it up and it somehow turns on Kurt and makes Finn look like the victim which……. Fuck off)

Will being the one to tell Shelby what she needs to do with Rachel.

Will agreeing with Finn about how they always do what the girls want when the girls literally always get sidelined. Literally fuck off. I can’t stand this “boo hoo my masculinity is too fragile to perform a song by a theatrical woman I need to perform a manly song instead” “you’re right, I’ve been turning this Boys Club into a Girls Club. Time to take our manhood back!” Ew.

Finn, Puck and Matt not being supportive of the girls when they performed their awesome Gaga number. I feel like this show did that a lot – the guys don’t understand a performer, so they don’t encourage their teammates. Then, when they do a number, the girls are super supportive and encouraging. It’s annoying.

Okay, even though Finn is a dink in this episode, I still think that they shouldn’t have told him about moving in with Burt and Kurt like that. This decision affects him too – Carole should have sat him down and asked him what he wanted to do, and if they disagreed then figured out how they could come up with a compromise.

Also, yet another missed opportunity for bi!Finn! This whole episode could have been an awesome way to show internalized homophobia, especially with that line at the end where Finn is like “I am different”. But whatever.

“My dad’s can’t sow. I really need a mom right now” I mean, not every woman knows how to sow, Rachel. You clearly don’t know how to sow. Why would you assume that just because she’s technically a mother that Shelby knows how to sow?

Songs:

Funny Girl: While Idina Menzel sounds amazing in this, I find it boring and too long. It’s emotional because of Rachel, but whenever Rachel isn’t on screen I lose interest.

Bad Romance: An amazing number!!! I love when they do actual group numbers, where a bunch of them get solo lines. I think everyone except Rachel and Brittany sing in this one, which is amazing! Plus the costumes and the choreography is awesome! My only gripe is changing “I’m a free bitch, baby” to “I’m a freak, baby”, which I don’t understand cause they say the word “bitch” on Glee all the time (they literally sing a song titled “Bitch” like come on).

Shout It out Loud: An entertaining performance that is all too forgettable. I honestly can’t remember most of what happened in it, and I literally just watched it.

Beth: This song always brings tears to my eyes. It’s such an emotional moment, and the song is so melancholy. Plus Puck sounds amazing (and while I understand why the put Finn’s verse in there I still lowkey wish it had been a Puck solo).

Poker Face: I have never liked this version of the song, and I probably never will. I don’t think it transfers well to acoustic at all. I honestly cringe a little listening to it because the lyrics and the melody just don’t match up. I strongly dislike this song. No thanks.

Final Thoughts: While I wish they had gone further on a few elements, overall this episode is really strong. It’s funny (a lot of great one-liners), it’s emotional, and (with a few exceptions) has really good music. It’s definitely my favourite episode of season one, and I’ve watched it as a stand-alone more times than I can count. I really, really like this episode.

Chapter 2: Day 2

It is very early in the morning when Pidge stirs from her sleep, the entire room lit up by a singular Netflix message flashed over the end credits of Big Hero 6 on the TV: “Are you still watching?”

The room is filled with only the noises of soft breathing (or in Hunk’s case, soft snoring) and the air conditioner. Pidge gropes around to find her glasses and her phone, and groans as she turns on the display to check the time, the brightness burning into her eyes. 5:18 A.M., she thinks. Oh well, I can’t go back to sleep now otherwise I’ll just oversleep again.

Careful to not step on her teammates and friends, Pidge maneuvers around their bodies and creeps onto the balcony the hotel room had, providing a view of the convention center and the luminescence of the city. The sky slowly starts gaining an indigo color to signify the birth of another day, slowly consuming the twinkling stars, nebulas, galaxies, and other heavenly bodies in its wake. The moon, however, appears to be untouched.

Quiznak, to think that I’ve been to those same star systems above me, light-years away… and spent years amongst them...

Green sends a nudge in Pidge’s mind.

She chuckles. Of course, you were with me the entire time, girl. Well, after a boat ride with Shiro and a sloth creature, and after a brief separation a little trip to a garbage galaxy. We’ve been through alot together, huh?

Her lion purrs in agreement and a hint of pride.

Pidge stays on the balcony for a little while after grabbing a drink from (*insert names of people who are in charge of the room*)’s mini-fridge, watching the sky’s portrait continue being painted with colors. Not too long after getting her drink, the horizon slowly gains a streak of gold as the sun is reborn from the earth, the wispy clouds a strange yet beautiful silhouette against the canvas.

She heard movement behind her, from where she’s perched herself on a chair. She turns her head to see Hunk, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, shuffling over to her.

“Mornin’, big man,” Pidge says, shooting a two-fingered wave to her groggy newcomer.

“Good-” Hunk yawns. “-morning.” He stretches his arms and back, facing the sun. “Y’know, I really missed seeing the sunrise from Earth. Though we’ve witnessed many different sunrises on many different planets, home’s is-” Another yawn, as he ties his trademark bandana under his bangs and ties the knot on the back of his head. “- still the prettiest to look at.”

“Ditto, both on missing the sunrise and witnessing others,” Pidge replied, giving a yawn of her own shortly after. “Aw great, you’re gonna make me sleepy again from your yawning alone.”

“Oops?” Hunk shrugs while turning around and walking back into the room, passing their roommates for that night. “I might as well start cooki… okay now that’s just adorable.”

He starts grinning and motions with his hands for Pidge to come back into the room. She quirks an eyebrow, but leaves her roosting spot on the chair to look at Hunk is smiling about.

What she sees is pure blackmail material seeing the way her fellow paladins act.

Shiro and Allura are asleep sitting upright at the foot of one of the beds, the Altean Princess resting her head on the Black Paladin’s shoulder, he himself laying his own head on top of her’s. Pidge catches Allura nuzzling into Shiro’s neck, the side of his mouth quirking upward for a second in response. Their fingers are woven together between their sleeping bodies.

The Green Paladin snickers softly as she starts snapping pictures of the scene. “Ohoho, I see Space Mom and Dad have seemed to make advancements other than in battle strategies and technology for once.”

“That’s not the end of it. Look to the right,” Hunk says, gesturing to a place on the floor. He then proceeds to take a box of breakfast sausages out of his bag.

Pidge follows his gesture to be met with Keith and Lance. Asleep side by side, and quite close in proximity that is, their chests basically touching. Not only that, their legs are tangled together, and Keith’s arm is loosely wrapped around Lance’s sleeping figure, as if he was actually trying to snuggle with Lance.

Pidge continues to take pictures. “oh my god, this is too good. Lance and Keith are gonna flip out when they find themselves like this,” she whisper-shouts towards Hunk. “I mean seriously, Keith is like…” She crosses her arm and tilts her head downwards. “‘My name is Keith. I’m so emo, and I’m thirsty for Lance but I don't and will not want to admit it yet and I’m always jealous about him flirting with Allura!!’”

Hunk muffled a snicker behind his hand. “Don’t get me started on Lance about Keith. He’s always ranting about him but honestly it’s more like lowkey whining about how Keith is hot, and I’m pretty sure he means more than just hot-headed. Send me those pictures you took by the way,” he says as he continues preparing breakfast for the team.

The shorter hums in response. “I would continue this conversation, but it’s 6 A.M, and the drive to the con building is pretty far away.”

Pidge produces a wireless speaker from her bag, turns it on, and connects her phone to it. She then goes on YouTube, searches something up, and then clicks on a video.

“Hunk?” Pidge says.

“Yeah?” Hunk yells over his shoulder.

“Brace your eardrums for this and enjoy the show.”

And she turns the volume up to max.

The very start wakes everyone up with a jolt.

Everyone that was woken up let out startled screams and discontented groans, however their sounds were drowned out by the ear rape and Pidge’s hysterical laughter.

The first thing Keith noticed about his position is that oh my god. I slept right next to Lance. There is a blanket. Over our legs. We slept under the same blanket. He then remembers the final minutes before he went to sleep, where Lance laid his head on his shoulder, and very sleepily and stupidly let him be this way, and fell asleep snuggling with him.

Oh my quiznaking god I snuggled with him… lord take me now.

“PIDGE, WHAT THE QUIZNAK?!” Lance screams, now immediately up and on his knees. He, like the others, UCKare severely triggered. “YOU WAKE US UP WITH EAR RAPE AND RICKROLL?! YOU LITTLE SHIT I WON’T HESITA-”

The Green Paladin pauses the ear rape video. “Okay okay, Ocean Man,” Pidge says, raising her arms up in surrender, however a mischievous look plastered upon her face. “However before you kill me, I wanna know why you were sleeping next to Keith all…” She wriggles her eyebrows. “... couple-like.”

Lance quirks an eyebrow, confused. “Huh?” He then looks to his right, and sees Keith, slightly groggy yet wide-eyed, running his fingers through his bed-head mullet (oh god why is that so hot- wait what?), avoiding eye contact with him. Keith was also very close in proximity, and the blanket covering both boys’ legs only contributed to the fact.

Keith had already seemed to notice this and was very red.

Lance himself ended up doing the same.

Oh god oh god oh god Pidge why are you like this does he remember last night? What he did? D- Keith thought, but his racing thoughts were abruptly cut off by a pillow slamming into his face.

When he grabbed the pillow and pulled it off his face, he was met with Pidge and the others, trying not to explode from laughter, save for Hunk as he was already in the buffet. In addition to the laughter, Lance gave a shit-eating grin, but was also seemingly blushing out of embarrassment.

“Oops?” Lance said. “I was just trying to match how much you wanna tap male ass in the form of the force of a pillow hitting you in the face.”

Keith blinked, then in a flash pinned down Lance with a firm push from his palm to the other boy’s chest, that hand slamming on the floor next to Lance’s face once he hit the floor.

Lance, internally, was a fucking mess.

Here he was, pinned down by the Red Paladin after slight teasing, in front of his teammates, who were probably laughing and/or staring at the scene that unfolded in front of their eyes.

Keith, hovering over Lance now, gave a smirk. In a low, slightly flirtatious voice, he said, “Like that?”, which honestly, was doing a number of things to him mentally, and hopefully-not-but-probably physically. He was pretty sure his face was as red as the Red Lion’s body.

The Red Paladin, however, was freaking out. Did I say it like I did that one time in the snowball asteroid field?!

Lance was about to probably combust because of this rare, handsome, really fucking hot (okay whoa there buddy) Keith on top of him, but then he was met with a pillow full force to the face.

The thoughts subsided, replaced with the flame of battle.

“OKAY, IT’S FUCKING ON MULLET. ARE YOU READY TO SURRENDE-” Lance was forcefully hit again with Keith’s pillow.

He flopped on the floor with an abundance of dramatics. “Shiro, I’ve been hit,” Lance wails. “Avenge me, you beautiful 5-year-old!” He then makes choking noises to imitate death. Keith snickers while smothering Lance’s face with his feathery weapon and repeatedly smacking him with it.

Shiro laughs, slowly scooching away hugging his own pillow. “Nope, sorry Lance. I pick and choose battles, and it seems like a personal situation. Sorry!”

Pidge is observing the situation, obviously loving it. “Ha, truly number one in the `Top 10 Anime Betrayals’.”

“Well, we’re technically not an anime, our animation is owned by Dreamworks and Studio Mir, so we’re more like anime-inspired. Actual anime is animation straight from Japan,” mumbles Coran, watching from the sidelines.

Allura hears Coran mumbling and turns to him. “Hm? Coran, did you say something?”

“Ah, nothing important,” Coran replies.

Meanwhile, Shiro continues on. “I don’t know, you guys seem really occupied over there,” he says in a slight teasing tone.

“Yeah, probably, while you’re probably thinking, ‘wow, Allura is the most beautiful being in the universe, and I know this because I’ve been across the entire universe!’” Lance retaliates.

“I’m with Lance on this one, sorry Shiro,” Keith adds, still trying to lowkey suffocate Lance under him. “You guys fell asleep holding hands and looking quite content at that. C’mon guys.”

Shiro then turns a shade of red. He turns to Allura, who is also blushing. Their eyes meet, have some sort of understanding. Somewhat along the lines of, hey, you're embarrassed, I’m embarrassed, they’re responsible for this, let’s kick their asses. They nod in confirmation.

Then they hurl their pillows at Keith and Lance together in tandem.

This sparks the start of a pillow war, pillows being thrown between the Red, Blue and Black Paladins and the Princess. Pidge, Hunk, Coran, and Shay all witness the intense thwipping of pillows flying through the air and hitting each other in the face, along with a long stream of comments.

Eventually, everyone joins in the fight for the fun of it, except for Hunk, who was smiling to himself, looking over his friends every now and then as he eats the food he got from the buffet.

After 15 minutes, Hunk calls everyone to breakfast down at the buffet, and the paladins and their companions get their food- while still giddy from their pillow battle- and get back to their respective hotel rooms to get ready for Day 2.

Everyone shortly meets up after that, and in no time they’re back in the line for Day 2 of AX at 8 A.M. However, since they got their badges yesterday, they didn’t have to wait in line. But as they were in the car Lance notices Pidge typing something into her phone.

A minute later, his phone buzzes with two text notifications.

Keith also receives a text shortly after.

The texts both of them receive are a short message and a YouTube link from Pidge.

Well, it doesn't look like the rickroll link at least, Lance thinks, as he clicks, and plugs in his headphones.

Keith simply reads the message and clicks on the link.

The link sends them to a video with a song from a musical, Be More Chill. Lance has heard about, but never watched or listened to himself, while Keith on the other hand has listened to this song once or twice.

Another notification pops up in front of them as the instrumental starts.

Lance’s says this:

Lance frowns at this. Why Keith? Sure, I’ve been in compromising situations with him, but… He shakes his head to cut off his thoughts, and listens to the song and the lyrics.

Pidge’s message to Keith however, says:

Keith lets out a sigh through his nose, smiling. He lets the music play and starts losing himself in the song.

He looks over to the boy in question, who is nodding his head to his own music, eyes closed with a smile on his face. His hair falls repeatedly over his eyes, but he seems to not notice or care.

He looks so… carefree. He so stony and hotheaded at most times, even after we defeated Zarkon and Lotor, but yet sometimes… those moments when he genuinely smiles and has fun…

I like it. I really want to see more of it.

Meanwhile, Hunk, walking next to him, was observing Lance and Keith listening to the song.

He got a text notification.

Lance continued listening to the song, watching Keith bop his head to whatever music he was listening to.

The music drew to an end, and he laughed when Christine anticlimactically sang out “yeah, that guy that I’d kinda be into is… Jake.”

He put the song back on repeat to listen to it again and think about the lyrics and his own feelings.

Then came the verse again.

“Say there’s this person that you never knew that well

You thought that you had him pegged but now you can tell he’s gone

In this verse, Lance could relate, in regards to Keith.

Way back when at the Garrison, he was all of a sudden plucked out of the cargo pilot class straight into fighter class, apparently because Keith Kogane, top pilot in the class, had temper issues and was kicked out.

The general consistently reminded him of that, for every single slip-up he made.

He always saw Keith as this talented, impulsive hothead who apparently does not have a sense for trends, proof cited in his mullet. That’s how most people saw him.

Months after when he saw Keith again along with Hunk and Pidge, he just had to follow him, to find Shiro, only to find out that he doesn’t even remember him. His replacement as a fighter pilot, Lance’s self-proclaimed rival.

And then they found Blue, flew to Arus, met Allura and Coran, and suddenly became part of Voltron.

Despite the entire change in scenery, Lance only continued to him as the guy at the Garrison and a rival, and it kept him from cooperating with him. And it seemed that Keith had the same mutual feelings.

And then the fight with Zendak happened.

After he recovered, he denied he remembered anything, but… he did. He remembered Keith giving him his hand, and instead of pulling him up, kneeling down to where he was sitting, all bruised up and slipping in and out of consciousness. Him telling Keith they were a good team while giving a weak smile. Keith reciprocating the smile before he fell unconscious again.

Then waking up for a minute while Keith was carrying him over to a healing pod, then passing out yet again.

From that event on, their dynamic… changed in a way. They still did bicker, sure, but they worked together much more easily and willingly. They gradually learnt more and more about one another, along with the whole team.

And then when Shiro disappeared… Keith trusted him with Red. A lion as impulsive as him, whose trust and respect had to be earned. He also helped him cope with the temporary loss of Shiro, talking with and comforting Keith as necessary.

Keith was still the same boy from the Garrison, his rival… but as time went on Lance found much more behind the prejudicial wall he had built around Keith, way back when. As impulsive as he is, he cares about others, so much to even rescue a being from the enemy. He isn’t as stony as people make him to be. He doesn’t really get jokes, he cries, he has fears, he has good days and bad days. It’s part of him, it’s part of who he is, Keith’s human.

Well, he’s technically half human, half Galra… living being??? Ah, whatever.

So in that way… he can relate to Christine, in thinking you had a person pegged. But being into him?...

“Absolutely,” sings out Jeremy and his Squip, and Lance agrees on his end.

Lance has been staring at Keith for more than a minute. I can hear him thinking.

And it looks like we’ve hit realization.

Lance decides to listen to the rest of the musical from the beginning to pass the time in the line.

By the time he finishes “Michael in the Bathroom” (poor Michael… sounds like a bad panic attack, Lance thinks), they are back inside the convention center. Shay, Rax, and Matt met up with them at the entrance with matching cosplays.

“Alright, paladins, day two of Anime Expo. What’s the plan?” Coran asked, twiddling with his mustache, as well as donning a simple green Scouting Legion Jacket, while Allura wears a Military Police version of the jacket. The rest of Team Voltron wear full Scouting Legion uniform cosplay, except for Pidge, wearing a Garrison jacket.

“Are you wearing that thing ironically?” Lance asked, seeing as the paladins were… well… students themselves in the Garrison. “Wait, how did you and Allura even get those jackets?!”

“Bought the badges and sewed them onto jackets. You just don’t really think about it cuz most of the time it’s always Scouting Legion people want. All versions of the jackets are generally the same price on the Internet, if you want to buy it off of eBay or something,” Pidge replies with a shrug.

“Jackets apart,” Keith said, checking his outfit, “I think we look pretty quiznaking awesome.” He sneaks a glance at Lance, who notices, and returns a smile.

“I totally second that, and I’m totally loving it, cuz I’m totally the best looking one,” Lance says, posing and changing his soft smile into a sarcastic grin. His replies from the team were a mix of laughing and groaning. Keith covered his mouth with a hand, but Lance could tell by the crinkles at the side of his eyes that he was hiding a smile.

“I know you’re smiling Keith,” Lance sings. “Come on, you know you’re allowed to exhibit enjoyment and let loose here. We’re not fighting aliens, we’re back home, it’s an expo!”

Keith drops his hand, however confused by Lance’s statement. The boy in question pokes the Red Paladin in the side, making him laugh and cover his eyes with a hand by habit.

“C’mon, Keef, lemme see it!” Lance coaxes, taking Keith’s hand covering his hand in his own.

Keith finally gives up trying to hide his smile and looks at Lance, laughing so carefree. Once he calms down, he looks at the Blue Paladin, giving him that smile that he longed to see. Lance feels his face heating up.

“Y’know Lance, at some points you never change,” Keith says in almost a whisper, the tenderness in his eyes unshielded. Lance lets out a soft laugh, returning the smile.

Meanwhile, Pidge, Hunk, Shay, Shiro, Allura, and Coran look at the intimate display between the two boys.

“Is it just me and Pidge, or are Keith and Lance probably going to follow the ‘red and blue characters are in love’ trope from a lot of books and TV shows?” Hunk asked the group while the two in question were having their moment.

They all looked at each other then back at Pidge. Their faces were blank as they nodded.

“Honestly, I could tell even before the space mice filled me in,” Allura said. “Their courtship rituals are… blatantly obvious.” Coran simply nods in agreement.

“Yeah,” Shiro agreed. “Keith always talks to me in our free time, and since he’s like my little brother, well… I know him pretty well and I can read him like a book. Besides, he trusts me with secrets, but honestly this-” the Black Paladin gestures to Lance and Keith. “- doesn’t look like a secret, or at least trying to keep it.”

Everyone expectantly turns to Shay, who just shrugs. “I do not know of other Skylings’ courtship rituals, so I simply did not look into it. However as this seems like one according to the rest of you, I believe they are doing that… how did you say it again Pidge?” She turns to the shortest of the group.

“Pining?” Pidge suggests.

“Ah yes, ‘pining’. They are pining,” Shay says.

Everyone else agreed and waited for Lance and Keith to notice that they were staring at them. It admittedly took a while, and it was only because Pidge ended up playing “Careless Whisper” from her endless library of audio memes.

“You gonna have a bonding moment you finally remember, Lance?” Pidge snickered, and Lance groaned.

“Pidge, please stop.”

“The Pidgeon makes no promises~” she sings while walking off towards Artists Alley.

From there, the team follows her, and for the next couple hours they spend their time wandering around Artist Alley, buying fan merchandise and taking pictures with other cosplayers, and attending panels.

“Oh my god, they have a pin that says ‘Space Dad’,” Keith chokes out while laughing. “Lance, should we get it?”

“Already way ahead of you, Keith.” He says as she holds out her hand, revealing a copy of that pin, as well as an assortment of other space-related buttons.

“Katie, you are not buying us hats that say ‘problematic’,” Matt says.

“Says my brother who bought like, half of the Kanan merch here in this entire area,” Pidge replies.

“SHE IS MY BEST GIRL AND OSHIMEN I SACRIFICED FUCKING 3 OF MY DREAM URS OF OTHER GIRLS JUST TO CONTINUE THE OSHIMEN CHALLENGE. I. AM. DEDICATED.”

“Yup, getting the hat set.”

“Wait, so Shiro, are you kinda like Marco because you lost your right arm?”

“Lance. No. Marco lost like almost all his right half of his body and died. I only lost my right arm, which is now a pretty badass prosthetic, and I’m alive. I think… wait, what if I’m still floating out in space?”

“Shiro, calm down,” Hunk says.

“What if I’m still in cryosleep and all of you are figments of my imagination?”

“Shiro. You’re fine.”

“What if this is the afterlife and I’m actually dea-”

“Okay, that’s enough existential crisis for Space Dad,” Lance says, and pats Shiro’s back, who would basically have a dark shadow masking his eyes and have squiggly lines over his head if he was an anime character right now.

“Is that a… dancing hot dog?” Allura says as she squints her eyes at a t-shirt display.

“Seems quite so, Princess,” Coran says. “Apparently this is what humans call a ‘meme’, as well as many more photographs, like this adorable specimen!” He points at a picture of Doge.

“Human culture is weird,” the Altean princess decides.

Before the gang could even notice, the sun has traveled to the western part of the sky, and they walk out of the convention center, caps emblazoned with the word “problematic”. Matt’s is decorated with Kanan buttons, and Shiro’s cap has a pin that says “Space Dad”.

The plaza in front of the place is still relatively crowded, but less hectic than inside the building. Many people are seen taking group pictures and chilling outside. A performer duo finishes a piece on the sidewalk, and passerby applaud.

Team Voltron starts walking back to their van after saying goodbye to Shay, Matt and Rax when the music playing from a speaker changes, and suddenly both Keith and Shiro stop abruptly in their tracks, catching the attention of the rest of them.

Lance, who has a pin on his Survey Corps. jacket that says “uranus is out of this world”, turns around, confused. “Uh, guys? You okay?”

Shiro smiles. “Yeah, definitely. Something Keith and I remember from a while back came up, right?” He looks over at Keith, who is donning a nostalgic, yet energetic smile.

“Definitely. Do you still remember our choreography Shiro?!” He asks.

“It’s been a while, so I might be a bit rusty. But hell yeah, I still remember.”

Keith’s eyes grow brighter. “Wanna do it for old times’ sake?”

“I thought you’d ask that, and the answer is definitely yes,” Shiro replies, then walks with Keith to a more open spot on the pavement.

Lance, Pidge, Hunk, and Shay at first are confused, when Allura suddenly says, “Oh, so this is what the mice told me about!”

“Wait,” Matt asks, “You know about Keith and Shiro’s dance?”

“Dance?!” The Blue, Green and Yellow Paladins echo, bewildered. Shay is still quite confused. Then Pidge straightens.

“Oh yeah, now I remember! It’s their song playing right now!” She says, and nudges Lance’s arm. “You might want to prepare your bisexual pining heart for this. Allura looks full-on ready. It’s gonna be fucking amazing.”

“Pidge, what do you mean? And how have I not heard of th-” Lance starts, but then shuts himself up when he sees Keith and Shiro in position, then moving in sync, mirroring each other’s movements to the beat of a BTS song.

However, as Lance starts to notice, the choreography both boys are dancing isn’t simply a copy of the original dance for the song, cut down for two people.

(And he knows this, because he has watched BTS’s MVs, thank you very much.)

No, this was a dance made from just the two of them, Brogane trademarked and choreographed.

An audience started building up around their display, some taking their phones out and recording, many cheering.

Keith then did a certain move where he ran his hands up his body, through his mullet, then turned to Lance, and smirked.

And then he winked.

He quiznaking winked.

This sent another fresh wave of cheers through the crowd, Team Voltron’s louder than the rest (although admittedly Allura’s cheers could be heard as the loudest of the group). However, Lance was only semi-aware of this, as he was currently occupied on pondering why he hasn’t melted into a puddle on the floor yet by the sheer heat of the Broganes’ dance and the fire in his cheeks.

Oh god, when did Keith and Shiro MAKE this dance?! This is way too seductive for my own good, quiznak! Lance thought, watching the rest of the performance.

A minute later, Keith and Shiro drew to their final pose, the music ending and their chests heaving out of exertion. Their audience clapped and cheered enthusiastically, multiple wolf whistles being heard as well. The Black and Red Paladins bowed, then walked back over to the group.

“It’s just as I remember it,” Matt says, still applauding the two as he hands the two boys water bottles. “You couldn't even tell that they hadn't danced this together in a few years!”

“That. Was. Amazing! I didn’t know you guys could dance like that!” Hunk took the Broganes into a tight hug then let them go.

“I agree. The dance was quite enjoyable to experience!” Shay adds on as she walks and stands next to Hunk.

Allura and Lance both exploded with the same question. “WHERE AND WHEN DID YOU LEARN THAT DANCE?!”

Keith blinked, smiled, and replied first. “Well, it was around a year before Shiro and Matt left for the the Kerberos mission. Me and him were really close and loved the same music, and we randomly decided one day to make our own choreography to one of our favorite BTS songs.”

“At first it was a little thing we did on a whim,” Shiro continued, “but eventually the dance ended up being our thing, and it stuck with us. We made tweaks and practiced it like we were actually going to perform it for a huge audience. We danced it for Matt and Katie one time, and that’s how they know about it!”

Lance was impressed. “I never really thought of you guys dancing together, K-pop at that. But seriously, you guys were amazing!”

“Wait, what’s K-pop?” Allura asked, eyebrows scrunched up in confusion. “Is it a genre?”

“Right you are, Princess,” Coran answers. “According to Keith, ‘tis a type of music that is popular in a country called Korea, hence the ‘K’ in ‘K-pop’, as well as here in America.”

“Anyways, let’s head back to the hotel now, it’s already 7 P.M. and we still have 2 more days left of AX,” Shiro says. “And this time, no staying up late!”

On the way back, Pidge and Hunk notice Lance staring aimlessly ahead, looking contemplative again.

They nodded to each other, and Pidge took out her phone and texted something to Lance. Seconds later, Lance opened his phone.

Lance looked up at Keith in front of him, who was happily ranting about a Mothman cosplayer he met at the con today with Shiro and Allura.

Hunk and Pidge saw him smile fondly at the scene, and looked back at them while texting his response.

He’d be supportive whenever you encounter any problems and won’thesitate to listen to you and help you out if you ever need it. The more Rei gets to know you however, the more intriguing hefinds you. He’s already used to Nagisa’s quirkiness and playfulness so yourweirdness doesn’t seem as strange to him as he once found it to be.

Rei isn’t the most outgoing person though, so conversingcasually with you might be a challenge for him but since you’ve captured hisinterest, Rei will take his seriously and try to find something you two have incommon. You’re both smart though, which might lead to some lowkey competition.The number of trivia you know is really impressive though! Even if it’s aboutstrange things like serial killers. That’s not trivia Rei wants to know and hemight even raise an eyebrow at you for knowing such things, but nevertheless,it’s remarkable. He also finds how you can solve problems with little troubleto be quite inspiring and will be determined to improve himself to your level.Whenever he catches you spacing out, he’ll call out to you and maybe wave ahand in front of your face to try to catch your attention, inquiring about whatyou were thinking about. The fact that you frequently zone out is a bitworrying for him, especially if you’re not paying attention to yoursurroundings, but it is kind of cutehow you keep doing that… Rei might also chastise you for staring people down,even if you don’t like them, because such an act is rather rude. If Rei hasever caught a glimpse of your inner rude side then he’d attribute your actionsto that side of you, but it still wouldn’t be something Rei finds pleasant andhe’ll try to talk you out of doing such a thing.

With how Rei approaches things with a theoreticalmindset, if your paranoia shows and gets the best of you, you can count on Reito calm you down, explaining step by step how the things you’re worried aboutaren’t that big of a deal and that there’s no need to be so worked up. Thismight or might not work out well though. Your snarky side might also confuseRei at first since he’d take the things you say literally sometimes but aftergetting accustomed to your way of talking and thinking, Rei will find it to be arather endearing part of you. He’ll also find how you describe things in yourown unique weird way to be charming too. Rei has his own uniqueness in how hetakes things too seriously and is too confident in himself sometimes, resultingin him looking like the dork that he is. Not that that’s a bad thing since you’llbe able to see other sides of him too.

Edogawa Ranpo (Bungou Stray Dogs): The great detective of the agency has never admitted defeat to anyone when it comes to intelligence battles. He welcomes all challengers and the other members know better than to try to take him on, preferring to inflate his ego instead. You refuse to let him best you but no matter what you challenge him on, he always find a way to outsmart you. There’s a popular story the members like to share - you and Ranpo once sat down for a game of chess but there was no winner because the two of you had sat there trying to predict the other’s move. As a result, the pieces never moved and Fukuzawa had to step in to end the game that never started.

The two of you are often teasing each other, usually for minor things like weird habits or jibes for not knowing something. There’s never a day that goes by when you don’t remind Ranpo of his inability to navigate the transit system without getting lost or having an escort and he’s always reciting riddles you could never understand. Whenever he and Dazai are having a strategy meeting, you always sit with them to try to understand what they’re saying. It’s like they’re speaking in another language - no one understands except for them. You ask Ranpo one day to teach it to you - he says there isn’t anything to teach; you just have to understand it.

From then on, you sit with them every time they discuss strategy, Dazai always disappears afterwards so Ranpo has to deal with your questions and at first he answers them with scorn but after a while, he answers with reluctant affection. Outside of these meetings, the two of you are still usually in disagreement over something or engaged in a battle of wits but the interactions are no longer heated with rivalry, just friendly exchanges. The two of you begin solving cases together, cracking them before anyone else could read the case summary. Not much legwork has to be done but whenever there’s some involved, you like to demonstrate your survival skills any way possible. You always offer to teach them to Ranpo but he usually declines, saying he’ll never have to use them if he’s with you.

At the end of a long day, he comes to you to tell you you’ve finally stumped him: he can’t crack the enigma that is his love for you.
